DIY Home Studio Lighting

My first attempt in making my own home studio lighting kit for background and key lighting

A visit to the local hardware shop and I was amazed with the selection of items they had there and picked up some chrome rods cut to 1.8meters, some steel faceplates, bolts and bar clips
Marked the center for the bolts

Aligned for drilling
Couldnt get a perfect center but doesnt matter

The final clips are ready
Next is the lighting fixture
A few holes for the cable tie
Rubber mountings to keep the bolt away from the wiring
Place the holder on top of the lamp holder
Secured with cable ties
And the clip stays on the bar .. success

Now for the wiring

Some cuts on the lamp holder to route the cables and finally installing the bar holder clips on to the wired lamp

Slide the lamps on the rod and aligning them straight

Tightened the clips

Capping the ends of the rod for a clean finish

And ready for its first test run

Success .. 500watt lights for my home studio .. now to get the second and key lights completed the same way and some potrait shots .. Great DIY project for under $100

Stay tune for the next posting
